WHAT IS DTF PRINTING?

DTF stands for Direct to Film. Unlike DTG printing, which prints ink directly onto fabric, DTF prints your design onto a special PET film. That film is then coated with a heat-activated adhesive powder, cured, and heat-pressed onto your garment. The transfer bonds to the fabric at the fibre level, not just sitting on top of it.

The result is a print with sharp, clean edges and vibrant color that works on virtually any fabric. Cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, dark shirts, light shirts, DTF doesn’t care. That versatility is why it’s become one of the most popular print methods for Las Vegas businesses ordering branded uniforms, team apparel, and promotional shirts on mixed fabric types.

The key difference from DTG: DTG is that ink is applied to fabric, making it best for cotton. DTF is a transfer onto fabric, best for everything else. We carry both methods and will always recommend the right one for your specific garment and design.

DTF is the method we reach for when a job needs to work on fabrics or shirt colors that rule out other methods.

DARK SHIRTS

DTF produces bright, vivid colors on black and dark-colored shirts. DTG struggles on dark fabrics. DTF is always the call for dark garments.

POLYESTER AND SYNTHETICS

Polyester jerseys, moisture-wicking uniforms, synthetic blends DTG won’t work on these. DTF adheres to all of them without issue.

SHARP EDGE DESIGNS

DTF transfers have cleaner, more defined edges than most other transfer methods. Great for logos with fine lines, small text, and precise artwork.

SAME-DAY ORDERS

DTF is one of our two same-day capable methods. Submit your order before noon with a print-ready file and your transfers are typically applied and ready same day.

SAME-DAY DTF PRINTING IN LAS VEGAS

Same-day DTF is one of the fastest production options we offer. The DTF process prints the film, cures the powder, and heat presses the garment, and is efficient enough that small to mid-size orders placed before noon with print-ready artwork are typically ready for pickup the same day. Las Vegas bachelorette groups, restaurant managers who need last-minute staff shirts, and convention teams who realize on Tuesday they need branded apparel for Thursday: these are our people.

SEND YOUR ARTWORK

Submit a PNG or PDF at 300 DPI via the quote form or email info@aacustomtshirtlasvegas.com. Include garment type, color, quantity, and sizes.

WE PRINT THE FILM

We print your design onto DTF film and cure it with heat-activated adhesive powder. This is what creates the transfer that bonds to any fabric.

HEAT PRESS TO GARMENT

The cured film is positioned on your garment and heat-pressed at the correct temperature and pressure. The transfer bonds permanently to the fabric fibres.

PICK UP SAME DAY

Orders placed before noon with print-ready files are typically ready same day. We'll call when your order is done. Pick up at 4800 S Maryland Pkwy Unit D.

How durable is DTF printing?

DTF transfers are highly durable. When properly cared for washed inside-out in cold water DTF prints maintain their color and adhesion through many wash cycles. The bond is at the fibre level, not a surface coating.
