WHAT IS SCREEN PRINTING?
Screen printing is one of the oldest and most trusted methods in custom apparel. A design is separated into individual color layers one screen per color. Each screen is coated with a photo-sensitive emulsion, exposed to UV light, and washed out to create a stencil. Ink is then squeegeed through the mesh onto the garment, one color at a time. The result is thick, vibrant ink that sits on and bonds with the fabric.
The reason screen printing remains the dominant method for bulk orders is simple economics. The setup work creating the screens is a fixed cost spread across the entire run. The more shirts you print, the lower your cost per shirt becomes. A 500-piece run costs a fraction per shirt of what a 24-piece run costs. The honest limitation: screen printing works best with solid colors and designs that don't require photographic detail or gradients. HOW SCREEN PRINTING PRICING WORKS
Screen printing pricing has two components: a setup cost and a per-shirt cost. The setup cost covers creating the screens one per color in your design. This is a fixed cost regardless of how many shirts you print. The per-shirt cost then drops the more pieces you order.
This is why screen printing becomes more economical the larger your order gets. A 500-shirt run has the same screen setup cost as a 24-shirt run but that cost is spread across 500 shirts instead of 24. WE CREATE THE SCREENS
We separate your design into color layers and expose each screen using UV light and emulsion. One screen per color in your design.
PRESS SETUP AND TEST
We set up the press, align the screens, and run a test print on a sample garment. You get a chance to approve before the full run begins.
FULL PRODUCTION RUN
Once approved, we run your full order through the press. Every shirt gets the same ink deposit, same placement, same result consistent across the entire run.
QUALITY CHECK AND PICKUP

Yes. Screen printing is the most cost-effective method for bulk orders of 24 or more pieces. The setup cost is fixed and spread across the run the more shirts you print, the lower your cost per shirt becomes.
Is there a minimum order for screen printing?

How many colors can you screen print?
Screen printing uses a separate screen per ink color. Most standard jobs use 1 to 6 colors. Designs with unlimited colors, gradients, or photographic detail are better suited for DTG or DTF we offer both and will tell you which is right.
How long does screen printing take?

What is the difference between screen printing and DTG?
Screen printing uses physical screens and ink best for bulk orders with solid-color designs. DTG prints digitally with no screens best for small runs, full-color artwork, and photos. Both are available at AA Custom T-Shirt Printing and we'll recommend the right method for your job.
